Desktop Support Engineer



We are looking for a desktop support engineer to join a leading market research company based in London. This opportunity affords the right individual excellent prospects to develop their skill set within an exciting and fast-growing business. The position will be to support the internal staff and IT infrastructure across our global offices.

You will need to have an excellent ability to learn new skills and perform all tasks to a very high standard. The successful candidate must be willing to learn new systems and aid to their improvement.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain end user devices such as PC’s, laptops, smartphones
  • Maintain printers and scanning devices
  • Ensure end user devices are kept up to date with security patches and updates
  • Network patching
  • Software installation and upgrades
  • Administration of user accounts across various systems such as Active Directory, Exchange and Office 365
  • Be the 1st point of contact for IT queries from local and remote users
  • Resolve IT queries for end users and escalate to senior team members where necessary.

Key Skills:

  • Deploying and supporting Windows 7 and Windows 10 workstations
  • PC and Laptop hardware support
  • User account administration
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP and Group policies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Supporting Printer hardware
  • Supporting MS Office 2016 / O365


The role requires good time management and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure. The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise tasks and fix problems quickly as they occur whilst maintaining our high security standards.
